The Felix Letter
The Felix Letter ceased publishing in October 2003. In spite of this, the Felix Letter remains completely relevant today.  We are working to get the entire set of 125 issues published on the World Wide Web.  This site contains a partial list of past issues, including articles on sickle cell.

Atlanta Clinic of Preventive Medicine
Dr. William E. Richardson, M.D. is director of this clinic which uses a focused natural medicine approach for many health problems, including sickle cell anemia.  Dr. Richardson’s articles are excellent.

Black Herbals
This site includes an exhaustive collection of articles on treatment alternatives to many African American health issues.   Read ‘Sorghum and Millet in African Nutrition’ for a good article on a natural approach to sickle cell.  The site also offers has natural products for sale.

A website founded by Maureen Henry (who also wrote the above article) to promote the natural treatment of sickle cell. The site also has natural products for sale.

Primarily a site on the alternative treatment of cancer, the information in this site is also applicable to people with many other chronic health issues.  Highly recommended.

Sickle Cell Community Health Network of Northern California
This is the website of the Sickle Cell Community Health Network of Northern California. The Network provides a number of services to the local sickle cell community. The website has local resources and an extensive list of links to sickle cell sites.

This is THE comprehensive medical site on sickle cell disease.

Medline Plus Medical Encyclopedia
This is a comprehensive site about sickle cell from the National Institute of Health and the National Library of Medicine. Fascinating pictures of blood cells.

American Sickle Cell Anemia Association
The ASCAA, founded in 1971, is the oldest sickle cell research, education, and social services organization in the United States.

Sickle Cell Disease Association of America
The SCDAA site includes a homepage with continual news updates about sickle cell.
